Pioneering the Production of Hyperloop Pipes
We signed a “Partnership Agreement” with the USA-based innovation and technology company “Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (HTT)” as a supplier and investor on February 15, 2022. The world’s first full-size, Ø4050 mm diameter, 5 km long commercial-purpose Hyperloop pipes will be produced by Erciyas as we are the only company in the world that can accomplish this mass production with the mentioned technical specifications. Described as the transportation concept of the future, Hyperloop; It envisages carrying passengers and cargo at speeds up to 1200 km/h in a frictionless vacuum environment within pipelines.
Advancements in Welding Technology for Vacuum Environments and Hydrogen Transportation
We are researching welding technology that will maintain its strength in a vacuum environment and physical vibration as well as any other R&D necessary for the completion of the project. We started the research studies for the transportation of hydrogen gas, which has become important in the framework of the transition to green energy in the world, with spirally welded steel pipes in 2021. The conformity of the spirally welded steel pipe to the HGE requirements and its usability in the hydrogen environment, the relevant test laboratories, and the properties of the roll to be used in the pipe manufacturing are investigated, taking into account the international requirements.
Innovative Spiral Submerged Arc Welding for High-Strength Cistern Wagon Tanks
As a result of the joint work started with our Rail Group in 2021, the cistern wagon tanks produced with traditional hardware sources are made of high-strength pipe produced by the spiral submerged arc welding method. Compared to the cistern wagon tanks produced by traditional methods, the spiral tank with 13% higher strength was produced as a prototype and exhibited at the Germany-Berlin Innotrans (International Rail System Technologies) fair on September 20-23, 2022. Erciyas Steel Pipe: Certified for Welded Manufacturing Competence in the Defense Industry
Within the scope of the Defense Industry Presidency (SSB) Industrial Competency Evaluation and Support Program (EYDEP), Erciyas Steel Pipe-Düzce Facility was certified in June 2022 with reference to our welded manufacturing competence. In this context, it is among our primary goals to take part in the works and contribute to the needs of the Defense Industry in the future.
